The Illustration

The four large rollers in the center move the items though the process. The tachometer speed sensor is electromagnetic and is at the top right. The control unit is towards the far right, and the exit is to the left.

Laundry Control System

This was a consulting project for a laundry control system for commercial laundries. The speed of the items fed through the ironing and folding system was digitally controlled using precision tachometry. Rejected items could be diverted for rejection or re-processing.

Simple straightforward design, but very accurate and highly reliable. This system was sold to laundries throughout the U.S.
